Ancient Inca agricultural laboratory in Moray, Peru.
Brooklyn-based adventurer, tour leader, and travel planner, EscapingNY, heads to Peru.
It is believed to be formed when a meteor hit the ground and the Inca took advantage of the shape and built terraces along the slopes so that different crops could grow at different altitudes and temperatures. Here coca, potatoes, quinoa, amaranth, and other crops were grown.
In ancient times, animal sacrifices were common, human sacrifice was infrequent and restricted to special situations where young children were sacrificed (a great honor) and then believed to become gods.
After visiting Inca agricultural laboratory, if you’s like to try something fun, I suggest you to try sandsurfing which it not far from Moray.
