Prague is a true piece of art! There are lots to see in this wonderful historical city but even if you just walk through the streets of old city you will admire the details of buildings and it is going to be a nice experience. Since the center of Prague is not so big, it is possible to reach stars of Prague just by walking.
STARS OF PRAGUE
Loreto
It is a Baroque religious place and dedicated to Virgin Mary. The staff protected in the treasure room is worth to see. Also building itself has a charming beauty.
Prague Castle
You see the castle region by free but if you want to see the inside of buildings then you have to buy a ticket. With tickets you can visit the places like old kingdom palace, St George basilica, Golden road, St Vitus Cathedral. Prefer to go to the castle in the morning and you can finish your tour by watching the change of guards at 12pm. Visit here for more info.
Charles Bridge
Walk through this amazing bridge decorated with gorgeous statues. Best time to take pictures on the bridge is sunrise. However you should come to the bridge also at sunset and watch the musicians on the bridge. You will fell in love with the atmosphere!
Old Town
Best place of the city! Many iconic buildings like Church of St Nicholas, twin tall gothic towers of the Church of Our lady before Tyn, the famous Jan Hus Monument and Golz-Kinsky Palace are located in the old town square. Also one of the greatest treasures of the city, Astronomical Clock is located next to the square. Each hour bells ring and many of the tourists wait here to watch this because it amazes people with its procession of Apostles, moving statues and visualization of time like no other instrument in the world.
Josefov
Josefov is at a walking distance to old town square. The most important place you have to visit in this region is Old Jewish Cemetery. Interesting fact is that the names of dead people symbolised by animals or profession symbols. For example a scissors represents a tailor’s grave. Besides that you will see some synagogues on the road.
Petrin Hill
Go up to the Hill by funicular. After hanging around the gardens on the top, start walking down from the hill, find Join St Michael Church and attend sunday morning ritual for a different experience.
Dancing House
Dancing house inspired by two dancers (the immortally famous duo of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers) is one of the tourist attractions with it’s interesting architecture. It is located at the end of Jiraskuv Bridge. There is a sightseeing terrace on top of it, from which you can enjoy the panorama of Prague.
Wenceslas Square
Wenceslas is the new part of the city with art nouveau style buildings. St Vaclav Statue and National Museum are the things that you shouldn’t miss. Also the shopping malls and modern day brands can be found in this region.
HOTEL:
We stayed at Mamasion Riverside Hotel.
We were pleased with our room with a wonderful Vltava River view. Also the loaction of the hotel was very close to the touristic destinations so we managed to go everywhere by walking from our hotel.
BONUS:
If you are visiting Prague in May, don’t miss the famous beer festival in Letenske park “cesky pivni festival”.
